Zesty Zookeepers!

This week, in First Grade, we learned all about zookeepers! This one may have been our favorite so far.

At the beginning of this week, we started out by creating books all about zookeepers. We then made an anchor chart about what we learned about zookeepers, we added to this as the week went on.

After the end of each lesson, I let students make zoo animals out of paper for our decorations.

On Friday, we had our Fun Friday. I decorated our classroom to look like a zoo and allowed all the students to pretend to be zookeepers.

I group them up and they rotate. Their rotations are:

*Dramatic Play

*Zookeeper craft + coloring page

*Fun worksheets

We stacked two tables on top of each other for the cages. Then we added backgrounds, our animals, and hung streamers from the ceiling to the floor, to make it look like the cage.

The students made most of the animals and most of the decorations were made out of just paper! It's easy and the students LOVE it.

Dramatic play printables and the Zookeeper lessons we used can be found here
